Unending Washi

Roll of dots

I just realized I don't have a picture of any washi tape, so the picture I'm using has dots. I actually like these dots although I haven't used many of them because they're usually not handy. I've mentioned my ADHD and out of sight out of mind problem. Maybe 2027 will be the year.

Because maybe by 2027 I'll have my washi tape wound onto the washi cards that I mentioned a while back.

I'm still winding tape. Sigh.

Part of it is because I have a lot of washi tape. Part of it is because days can go by when I don't touch the project.

However, winding washi tape is surprisingly good for thinking. While it's not exactly the most fun thing I've ever done, there's something soothing about it. Something that gives me time to think about my stories and where I want to go with them.

The soothing also works to calm me down. I had a very hectic morning recently, one where I hit the ground running on multiple fronts, and by the time I worked my way through it all, I felt frazzled. I finally grabbed some washi and started wrapping it around a card. It took two rolls, but it did relax me again.

I have decided that I'm not putting all the washi on cards. The really wide washi? That's staying on the roll. The brand new washi? That's staying on the roll, too.

Overall, though, this project has been good. I'm discovering washi I didn't remember owning (it's that pesky ADHD thing and object impermanence again). Once I'm finished, it's going to be so much easier to find what I want.

Just need to get there first.
